Tibia 7.4 - A classic rpg version
A 7.4 server that tries to get as close as possible to the Tibia of 2004, both in sprites and in game systems.
About
This is the full source of the server I have been running, cleaned up for a public release. The core is C++11 with LuaJIT, built on the Tibia GIMUD Server base by Alejandro Mujica, and it speaks protocol 7.72 to the client.

To edit and shape the server I used [7.4][OTX] RLMAP 100%, Port Hope 7.4, POI, Demon Oak, War System, Shared Exp by Mitsuig as a base and reference. Big thanks for sharing it!

Most of the combat, defense, experience and progression formulas are based on the leaked 7.72 server files, adapted to this engine. The formulas actually implemented are documented in the repository (docs/combat-formulas.md).

Honest note: this server was rebuilt with the help of AI, with many, many tokens spent along the way :D Every change went through review, tests and CI (C++ build with sanitizers, CodeQL, cppcheck, gitleaks), but feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

I also removed things that were documented by CipSoft as added after 7.4, each change linked to the official news post:
  • Port Hope boat routes (7.5)
  • Furniture construction kits (Solutions Against Cheaters)
  • Addons and instant boat travel (7.8)
  • NPC bank commands (7.9)
  • Wand/rod combat handlers and ice spells (7.6 / 8.1), breaking spears and throwing stars
  • Item hotkeys in old-school mode (7.8)
  • Later monsters: Cyclops Drone, Cyclops Smith, Frost Dragon, Crystal Spider
The full list, with sources and the known limits, is in docs/classic-74-compatibility.md. This is not a certified 1:1 copy of 2004, and anything that could not be confirmed in a primary source was left as is rather than guessed.

Extra systems (optional)
  • Wide screen view in the client
  • Market (buy/sell offers, partial trades, history)
  • Achievements and Bestiary
  • Quest log revealed as you discover the quests
  • Equipment rarity (5 tiers) and a dedicated loot channel
These are custom and not part of the original 7.4.

Test it locally in a few minutes (Windows)
  1. Install and open Docker Desktop (Linux containers).
  2. Download the local package: local-test-v1
  3. Extract it and double-click START-LOCAL.cmd. The first start compiles the server and can take several minutes.
  4. Log in with account 1, password local123, character Local Adventurer.
The setup creates its own database and a fresh RSA key for each install, and only listens on 127.0.0.1 (ports 17173/17174). STOP-LOCAL.cmd stops it without deleting progress. On Linux: docker compose up -d --build --wait.

Compiling
Code:
cmake -S . -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release
cmake --build build --parallel
Dependencies: Boost System/Filesystem, LuaJIT, PugiXML, GMP and the MySQL/MariaDB client library. See docs/building.md. Use config.example.lua as the template for your own config.lua.
